What are they?Antioxidants are substances that may help to prevent diseases throughout the body – they do this by protecting body tissue from cell damage.
What is the connection between antioxidants & vitamins?
Evidence suggests that some Vitamins are actually Antioxidants which means that that may possibly help to prevent a number of degenerative diseases and protect tissues from possible cell damage.
There are only actually 13 known vitamins which can be broken down into either fat-soluble or non-soluble vitamins
The fat-soluble vitamins are A, D, E and K – these vitamins are stored easily by the body for long amounts of time. The body can actually manufacture vitamins D & K, but all other vitamins have to be obtained through diet or nutritional supplements, so it is very important to have a very good diet and to use supplementation where needed.
The water-soluble vitamins are all the B vitamins and vitamin C These type of vitamins can only remain in the body for a short period of time and need to be replenished frequently.
