The body can actually manufacture vitamins D & K, but all other vitamins have to be obtained through diet or nutritional supplements, so it is very important to have a very good diet and to use supplementation where needed.

The water-soluble vitamins are all the B vitamins and vitamin C These type of vitamins can only remain in the body for a short period of time and need to be replenished frequently.
